nothing serious. there's no real practical use except its cheap and fun. its just mall ninja stuff i like to plink with at an indoor range.
its not your normal .22 that you see at a range.
i already have an AR15 and a Saiga 12 before i started doing these .22 dress up kits for my Ruger 10/22, Marlin 795 and Marlin XT-22

WWII dress up kits for the Ruger 10/22
.22LR Bren using a Ruger 10/22 (in progress)
Just got the parts kit.
First it needs to be degreased with mineral spirits and hot water to desolve the cosmoline. Will then be rewelding it with filler, grinding down the slag, milling out the receiver, putting the barrel through a lathe to bore it out. I will have to cut off the Bren trigger and trigger guard in order to have the 10/22 drop into place. Then repaint everything black.
Magazine, barrel and handle bar are being shipped.

.22LR FN BAR using a Ruger 10/22 (in progress)
This a custom FN BAR non firing gun. The receiver is made of solid aluminum with no internals. The only things real are the barrel, magazine, and the wood furniture. I will have to mill out the solid receiver and bore out the barrel through a lathe.
Bipod and handle bar are currently being shipped.

Jeez :what:
For the price of all of those, you could probably afford a real M82!
Really cool though.
defconskylude
May 9, 2012, 05:26 PM
nah i wouldnt spend that much money on a real M82. im not a serious shooter. just occasional plinking and thats it.
M82 was $280 for the stock itself plus the 10/22.
so its about less than $600 for this unique piece and 3 cents a round as opposed to like $7k-$10k plus $5 a round? plus California restrictions?
im happy with the rimfire version.
thanks. its just a cool, fun, mall ninja thing im doing.
the only real guns i wanted were the AR15, Saiga 12 and a Saiga AK47 7.62. nothing more. i plan to buy a 7.62 after these .22's are done
over time i expect to have 30 .22's to fill up each stock

Marlin 795 into a Barrett M99
I tried using a .22 bolt action but it would need some custom brackets.
The trigger on the Marlin 795 was too short so I decided to use a bullpup trigger linkage to pull the hammer thats tied to the existing M99 trigger.
Instead of cutting out an ejection port, I need to move the action back behind the pistol grip

This is the real meaning of "tacti-cool". I freaking love these, I cant quit looking at them. How much time do you have on average, in fitting these?
i have a wife and a 2 year old running around so im limited with my free time to do these. i try to squeeze in 1-2 hours before i go to sleep. weekends i sometimes get more free time.
depends if im dealing with plastic or metal. metal takes longer to cut with my dremel. plastic is quicker
depending on difficulty like:
removing internal walls
space for the ejection port,
space for the magwell
using a lathe to make room for the barrel to slide through a shroud
creating custom brackets when the pistol grip has no mounting points to the receiver painting
bedding the action/barrel with plexiglass or steel epoxy putty
JB welding
bullpups take much longer since i have to be creative and figure out how to make the bends on the metal rods and hooking it up to a trigger with a decent pull
dremeling the stock varies:
plastic takes about 1 to 5 hours
metal takes about 2-5 hours

I would totally want an M200 to mess with the Call of Duty kids at the range thinking it's the real thing
so far the M200 is my personal favorite because its just something you REALLY dont expect to see in a .22
i also play call of duty and battlefield 3.
lately its mainly the adults at the range that are getting a kick out of these

You need to start a business with that stuff bud!
ive done a little research on how to start a business on manufacturing dress up kits and its pretty tough because i would have to pay a yearly fee of $2500 to the Department of Defense to be a US manufacturer regardless if i make a profit or not. plus the business fees of $1000+ like LLC, etc. then overhead costs with shipping, packaging, tooling, outsourcing that requires 500 pieces minimum paid up front, etc
at the moment, im going to have to pass on making this a business because i dont have the time nor capital to do it.
im buying a welding machine and im just going to make "one-offs" for myself.
it would be better if you guys just bought a used stock to your liking, buy a dremel and start cutting away and being creative. then an addiction will kick in after you finish your 1st custom piece for your .22
www.customrifles.info is a site i found that's dedicated to custom black rifle stocks for .22's. its not your typical aftermarket Boyd, Tapco, Archangel kits. that site focuses on members using gutted airsoft shells. you wont see too many wood sporting stocks on that site.

Those are pretty cool! I think the pig is my favorite.
If I had that M82, I'd pull it out at the range on the far right bench, warn people it will be loud, and then fire off a round. It would be funny once.

the itar fee is only if you want to import/export or deal with the dept of defence
This is in response to your email to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). You wanted to know as a manufacturer who does not import or export or deal with the government have to register under ITAR.
In order to engage in the business of exporting, manufacturing, or brokering items on the USMIL you must be registered with the Department of State which administers the export and manufacturing provisions of the AECA. Generally, persons holding a manufacturer’s FFL (Types 06, 07, and 10) must register as a manufacturer with the Department of State unless specifically exempted by an International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR). theres a youtube vid out there on a .22 version of the M41A pulse rifle
its coming out here to the US soon so im waiting for a broken/used version so i dont have to pay full retail
it looks a like a 10/22 will not fit in this because the receiver looks too narrow. probably a Marlin 795 would fit. we'll see

This is just a place holder. Will be making the purchase tomorrow
This just came out and its a $23 springer. I'm assuming its cheap plastic but there's another guy that dropped in his .22LR inside and said that its good sturdy plastic.
I'm taking my chances since its only $23. Not sure which .22 will go inside yet until I gut it out. 10/22 or a Marlin 795 will go in.
Will hopefully come in this week after I make the purchase. Expect updated pictures before the weekend

its double eagle. there's a G&G brand but its like over $200. i assume it might be better quality but this double eagle is just fine.
you just need to dremel out the magwell and the upper receiver of the UMP. the marlin will slide into the upper receiver on the backside. i have youtube vids explaining what i did with the UMP.

Finally had time to clean off the cosmoline(grease) today.
Spent half an hour on planning.
Pre fitted the barrel, bipod and magazine.
I need to run the barrel through a lathe to bore it about 3/4 diameter
to make room for the 10/22 barrel to slide through it.
Need to mill out the Bren lower receiver so the 10/22 trigger can drop right in
and I can get access to the 10/22 magwell
I dont plan on using the torched receiver parts. I plan on using sheet metal to reconstruct the receiver and just weld it until it fits the 10/22
Need to grind out the slag from the torch cuts.
Add a hinge to the receiver and side wall of the Bren so I can easily take out the 10/22
Plasti dip all the wood
Paint the rest of the gun flat black

thanks. its an awesome collection for a hobby.
the FS2000 was about $70 for the stock itself plus $250 for the 10/22. so its $320 total.
took me about 1.5 hours to dremel out the stock to make it fit.
i havent had time to work on the trigger linkage yet but it would probably take another 2-3 hours to do the
trigger linkage since i have to figure out the bends.
so maybe 3-4 hours total to complete it.

I'm buying a welding machine this month and I'm going to attempt to make a couple full metal machine gun style stocks for my 10/22. These will be "one-offs" for my personal collection and WILL NOT BE FOR RESALE.
I did this concept in photoshop.
My 10/22 will just drop right in. It's all looks and no performance. It's not going to be an actual machine gun. I just like the looks of it.
Stock is fixed.
Magazine is fake
Bipod is fixed.
I'll be using 16 gauge sheet metal and metal tubings

10/22 into a full metal AK47 airsoft stock
Just got out of surgery.
It's about 80% done right now. Need to clean everything up and repaint it flat black. MOE stock will be plasti dipped in black.
The 10/22 rotary mag was JB welded to the AK47 magazine.
I had to dremel off the left wall of the AK47 receiver in order for the 10/22 to slide right in. I will then create brackets on both sides of the left wall of the receiver.
Will be reusing the action screw under the barrel and using an extended bolt through the buffer to keept it steady. WIll be using steel epoxy putty to bed the rest of the action and barrel.
I'm looking for a AK47 muzzle brake and front sight.

quick update.
had some time to do some work on the kriss today. im still far from being finished. heres what i did in 3 hours
first time using a plasma cutter and brake press (bending sheet metal)
plasma cutter allows me to cut 16 gauge sheet metal like butter. a lot faster than using a dremel or a angle grinder.
also i used a brake press to bend the upper part of the receiver in 2 places.
i already cut out 2 pieces of the lower receiver.
things to do:
weld the round tube pieces to the square tubing stock.
weld the stock to the upper receiver
weld butt plate to stock
epoxy glue rubber butt pad to the butt plate
draw template for pistol grip/trigger guard area and plasma cut it
add 20" in picatinny rail to the upper receiver for MBUS/eotech
add picatinny rail to the lower receiver for magpul
plasma cut and weld the floor of the receiver
drill holes similar to the KRISS
weld brackets to the upper and lower receiver for easy disassembly
add fake selector and safety switches
weld bracket to reuse action screw
jb weld 10/22 rotary mag to a extended pistol mag
cut 10/22 trigger guard
cut pvc piping for fake suppressor
fill gaps in the lower receiver
plasti dip the pistol grip
draw a template for cheek weld on the stock and plasti dip
draw and cut out a kriss logo to the lower receiver
clean up the edges and repaint it all black

here's what i have so far. still not done yet.
im using a gutted airsoft XM8 body inside.
used 22 gauge sheet metal and bent the upper receiver and lower hand guard
shaped the stock and external pieces with masonite wood.
things to do:
drill a hole to the action screw
redo the buffer bolt. its crooked
add rubber butt pad
still need to add JB weld over the stock and shave/sand it down to shape
still need to JB weld the 10/22 magazine over the G36 fake magazine
drill holes on the body and plug it with a nut/bolt
still need to bolt down the external pieces to the body
add some minor details to the body and stock
add JB weld to the base pistol grip and shape it
respray the entire gun with texture and flat black

thanks. i repainted the SCAR in black. looks meaner now.
in the beginning i was just using gutted airsoft bodies as a dress up kit. then it was real steel parts kit,
i started buying some new tools (sheet metal brake press and a mig welder) and im learning how to fabricate/manipulate sheet metal to design my own dress up kits.
im learning as i go.
i want to create some futuristic dress up kits using Gundam rifles

Did some range time with my family for my bday at Angeles.
Zeroed in the scope for the M200 and was hitting steel targets out to 100 yards.
Range officers and the rest of the onlookers loved them. Also had 2 little kids that wanted to shoot the M200 Cheytac and the uncle said it made their day.

Do you know who makes a drop in M60 stock for the 10/22 (or other semi auto 22)?

some vids at the range today
ugh i had fail to feeds because of my bent magazine release. everytime i fired a shot, the magazine would slide down which doesnt feed the next bullet. bullet ejections were ok.
i need to buy a replacement mag release and some better ammo. i was using bulk remington gold bullets
other that the FTF, people at the ranged liked my conversion. the range officer said that the owner of the gun range wanted to talk to me. met with the owner and she loved my conversions and was asking how or if i can make one for her son. i kindly told her i didnt have the time and resources to sell these and she understood. she wants me to bring my guns again so her 8 year old can shoot them. maybe i can get some free range time in exchange. =)
action/barrel were solid in the stock.
you can see that i had to keep pushing the magazine up and recharge it in order to feed the bullet
