I want to get my mother a ruger 10-22 but I was almost positive that they had custom (different color) stocks to choose from. I couldn't find them on Ruger's website. Do they make them actually or is this another company or manufacture that make it? Lastly how much would it cost for one of these guns with a different color stock? Thanks for the help! Please answer as soon as possible to this because I'm going to the local gun store tomorrow to ask them to order me one and I would like to know what is available to choose from before I order one.

If you want "colorful," I would definitely give Boyds' Gun Stocks a look-see:

I really like their Evolution line -- and they are nothing if not colorful... :)

A friend of mine got a stock and a barrel for his from this site...

http://www.usariflestocks.com/

The thing shoots freakin tacks now. We were shooting 12ga primers out at 50 yards with just about every shot. And we had one ragged holes from 10 shot groups at 50 yards too. I'm thinking about finding a used one for cheap and redoing it over.

Fish Blade 2--Another vote for a Boyd's stock here. They will do you a stock in a WIDE variety of custom colors & patterns. Check their website.

BTW, Boyd's is easy to do business with. And their 'phone people are very nice about walking a newbie through the choices. Phone 605-996-9878.

If you get the stock "unfinished" (just means not varnished) you can do the finish sanding and varnishing yourself, as well as glass-bedding it if you've a mind to, and save some $$. Did that myself on a Boyd's stock, and it turned out nicer-looking than I had any right to expect, and the rifle with that stock is nice & accurate to boot.
