Ok, guys/gals since I have had everyone I know looking for several UBR's for the past 6 months. So far nobody has been able to get one. I had a service buddy of mine that had some at his parents in NC but he got deployed again before we could agree on a price and we just figured it best not to worry about it for now. I have also been on backordered list for quite some time. So, I started looking at alternatives.

I was checking out the ACE skeleton stock since it was relatively inexpensive, seems to be built well, etc. I know its not adjustable but I think it will fit the bill. However, this will not exactly go with my FDE rifle very well. I thought about painting what little metal there is the FDE color or as close as I can get to it or ditching the foam pad and wrapping the tube with FDE colored paracord. Either one would work but I have not seen this done anywhere, at least not in the FDE color. Does anyone have pics of a stock they have done like this? I was also concerned with the paracord causing the tube to rust. Some people said that it retained moisture and caused their tubes to wear out prematurely. Any info on that? Any help would be most appreciated.

I guess I should have been more clear. That's what I get for posting after not sleeping for days. Anyways what I was wanting to know is anyone has pics of an AR, preferably a rifle length, with a Ace Skeletonized stock that either has what little metal it shows painted flat dark earth or has the area where the foam is wrapped with paracord thst is flat dark earth colored leaving the rest of the stock black. All of this with a rifle that is either completely FDE or has FDE grip, handguards, magazine, etc. Does that make sense?

Maybe take the foam off, paint the whole thing, then some kind of sealer? I have the same stock and have been thinking of the whole wrapping thing but dont know where to get started.

^^^thanks that is closer to what I was looking for but still not quite there. My biggest worry is whether or not that paracord is goin to interfere with the charging handle.

That's a nice rifle and the wrapping looks good. I don't think the charging handle will be a problem. I'll refrain from making fun of his $30 red dot because I have two of them. ;)
