I shoot in smallbore prone competition. At 68 yrs, I no longer can use iron sights, therefore, I compete in the any sight class.
Using a Weaver T-24 with a 1/4 moa dot, I struggle with pulse.
I can generally area aim & have worked my way up to expert ranking after 10 matches using a govt surplus Kimber 82g. (recent avg is 1586) My problem is that if the shot breaks as the rifle is rising with the pulse or dropping, the result is a 9 high or a 9 low. Generally 11 o clock or 5 o clock. Not all the time, but enough to be frustrating.
Now the question: Where on your arm do you place your sling? High on the bicep or lower? & why.
Suggestions from those that know more than I are welcome.
Presently, I have the sling as high as I can get it on my jacket.

For both a Web sling and leather sling I place the sling high up on my bicep closer to my armpit.

Wear the sling where it is most comfortable for you with the least amount of pulse beat. Change your aiming and timing on the shot break so that when your pulse beat hits its lowest point in the bounce you are center x and fire consistently then.

Higher up is generally better. Some folks find other spots that work well for them, do experiment some.

Do you have a jacket with a sling holder? If so, do NOT tighten the sling around your arm. That causes pressure on the pressure point on the inside of your upper arm which will result in a lot of pulse beat in your hold.

I put the sling high on the arm, but not above the rubber on the coat sleeve.

You are just going to have to learn to shoot between heart beats.
