Cross eye dominant and Scout scopes

This is a poll for people who are cross eye dominant. I'm trying to get a feeling for how bad I have it.

If you are cross eye dominant, do you have a problem with Scout scopes? Or do they actually make things better for you than a regular scope?

Let's say you are right handed and left eyed. With a regular scope that might have forced you to shoot left handed, would a Scout scope be something that allowed you move back to shooting right handed? Or does it make it even worse for you? Since Scout scopes are supposed to be used with both eyes opened, I wonder if that helps or hurts cross eye dominant shooters.

I do not own any Scout scopes. 'Just trying to get an idea if it would be a possible option for me.

I'm cross dominate. For scout or regular scopes I like to shoot strong handed. I can't shoot with both eyes open. I jus t momentarily close one eye when I shoot. If I shoot weak handed I can keep booth eyes open when I shoot. I'd rather shoot strong handed.

I have a particular situation as well.

When I shoot pistols, I usually shoot strong (right) hand weak (left) eye and with both eyes open. When I shoot rifle, reflex, or scope I shoot strong hand, strong eye.

The reason for this is that I've had cataracts removed from both eyes, and they implanted different focal length lenses in each eye. My left eye is for closeup (6"-36") vision, and my right is for distance 36">.

When I shoot iron sight pistols, I can see the sights in perfect focus, but the target is blurry. However, the right eye sees the target in perfect focus and makes up for it.

When I shoot a rifle, I always shoot right handed. With iron sights, the sights (especially the rear) are a little blurry because they're too close to be in focus for my right eye, but the target itself is perfect. When I use a reflex sight, the cross hairs are in perfect focus to my right eye, but blurry to my left.

Weird huh? :scrutiny:
