You can sometiomes find 15 packs of Winchester 2&3/4" slugs at Walmart on the cheap. Slugs are usually around a dollar a piece so any time you see a sale, stock up.

Wolf slugs are pretty cheap if you order them in bulk.
So are the B&Ps, which are also quite good.

Wouldnt a hollow point foster essentially be a lead ring flying down range?

Most of the gun stores and the chain places like Dicks or WalMart or Meijer run sales right around hunting season, you can get 5 packs for $3 or so. Stock up then. Remington, Federal, Winchester, etc. They don't go bad when stored properly.

I found a case of round ball (250 rounds) awhile back on luckygunner.com but it's not there anymore. The price was around $120 or so IIRC. It certainly wasn't anything I would consider name brand and I haven't shot any. There are some other deals at Luckygunner now too.

More like a flying ash tray. Wouldn't want to get hit with one either way - ~1300 fps is nothing to sneeze at when it's a 1oz hunk of lead.

The Rifled-Slugs (not saboted) are the cheapest. As others mentioned, any one of the big companies that is either selling them more than five to a box, and on-sale at the big box stores is about the only way you will get good, CHEAP slugs!

Just seems like it might shift the CG enough to make it less accurate.

Make you own. Hulls, powder wads and some foster slugs and you good to go
