Has anyone recognized a noticeable quality difference between Benchmade's Blue and Gold line of knives, other than material?

I don't own any gold class knives, but I've handled a few and did not notice a huge difference in quality in a few minute inspection of 4-5 of them. Obviously materials are somewhat nicer, but lockup, etc weren't noticeably better. Maybe if you carried and used them all the time you might notice a slight difference, but I doubt it. Honestly, I've never had any issues with red class knives I've owned either as far as build quality.
