so I love to collect AKs and want an E german one as i have German heritage or atleast one that looks like one (the one Apex had but sold out of)... I know they are rare and alot of them have sanitized serial numbers... the parts kits are super hard to find... should i get a different AK and dress it up with German stock, grip and hand guards for a reasonable amount of $$$$ to get the look? or start piece mealing one together and getting a local AK builder to make me a custom receiver with custom serial number and adding everything else? suggestions? thanks, Johnny

For sure that's a decision you'll have to make, but the way it's always been for me is as soon as I have a replica or fake, I want the real deal instead.

I really wanted a particular book once. Somehow my wife found a replica of the 1st Ed. So, for $15 I had something that did everything the 1st Ed did without spending $250.
For me, that math was easy: but as he above poster said, it may not be so for you.
Having said THAT, never heard of an EG AK...hmmm, I'd better be careful or I might finally want an AK...

I'd just keep an eye out for a kit. We all thought there wouldnt be any more M85 (Krink) kits for the last several years, now apex has 5 different offerings. It wouldnt be the same dressing up the other AK.
