Uberti 1875 Outlaw Main Spring Question

First off I'd like to introduce myself....I'm Pete.

I've joined the High Road because I'd like to learn more about gun maintenance & I'd like to start reloading....so I've got a lot of questions.

On to my first question.

A couple of months ago I purchased an Uberti 1875 Outlaw. The hammer pull is pretty hard compared to my Uberti Cattleman. I've completely removed the tension screw on the hammer spring but it doesn't help much.

Is there a way to reduce the tension on the spring or a place I can send it or buy a new one? I'd like to get this gun to be as fast & smooth as my Cattleman.

BTW I have a Pietta 1858 New Army & Pietta 1860 Army and have noticed the same difference between the two. Is this a coincidence or something indicative in the designs of the Remington vs. the Colt?

Thanks for any help in advance,
Pete

Hi Pete

Someone in the Blackpowder Shooting section would certainly answer about 1858 vs 1860; and we had a 1875 lovers thread here:
