I just bought a small lot of 6 new pieces for my collection and thought I would post them. Besides making fine firearms the Swiss really new how to engrave a die. I've always found them to be a nice compliment to my firearms collection.

Do you know any of the history behind them?
Were they all won by the same shooter?
Do you know what the events were and what the distance was?

Just corious, OS

Cool. I love coins and stuff like that. I bet you would like to have this gun I have. It is a french made 32 PPK made after the war when germany could not make firearms. It has Swiss police( in what ever language they speak) on the side of it.

Swiss shooting medals are very cool. I like the ones I earned shooting in our local Swiss matches.

Thanks guys, to answer some of the questions:

I get them from dealers or auctions, some in the US and some in Europe, but this particular group came from a collector raising some immediate cash who knew I collected them.

These are called medals but they aren't in fact winners medals like we would think. They did issue winners medals but those will be engraved with the winners name and event they won. These were available for participants as a commemorative, usually issued in silver and bronze, and sometimes in gold. The mintage on this group ranges from 500-1650.
