I just purchased a ruger 10/22 with the bull barrel, can anyone explain why there is no chanfer or radius on the barrel exit. this is there target model and from what I have been reading a chanfer is preferable. I have noticed on other bull barrels there is no chancfer so whats up. I'am a new member.

What you are referring to is the crown of the barrel. If there is no radius or recessed portion of the crown as you say, then it sounds like you have a flat target crown.

That is correct it is a tareget barrel so why is the end squared off with no radius

Having the crown recessed just protects it more than a squared off crown. The squared off crown will shoot pretty much the same, just be more careful with it.
