Hello, I have a question regarding my Aimpoint Micro T-1. The dot doesnt appear unitl I click it on power 7 or 8 and then it's dim. The dot is really bright at the 12 (highest setting) but really good at 10. Is this normal?

I figured the 1-5 power would be for very low light, I tried it in complete darkness and no dot (on 1-5 power).

Whats the deal?

I did buy it second hand. I checked all the tell tale signs for a fake. The windage/elevation clicks are audible and very noticable. The battery compartment is not a cheap spring. The "A" and "t" in the word Aimpoint are NOT in italics. The logo is engraved and it does have a seriel number.

Hoping someone could give some insight.

When I bought it i figured the battery was just low, I bought a new battery and same results...
THanks

Steve

I believe the lower settings are for use with night vision, so they should be very dim. As long as the highest setting can be seen easily in the bright daylight you should be good to go.

Mine is the same, can't see anything till 7 or so. 1-5 are for night vision.

Min's the same way - I normally run it on 7,8, or 9.

Yep, it's normal. The lower setting are for use with night vision equipment. That's a killer sight that you got. Just buy one extra battery for it. Set it at a setting that covers most bases for you and forget it.

Great, thanks for all the replies. I gotta tell you guys shop around pawn shops. I found mine for $239.00, no joke. I tried to haggle a better price but the manager apparently knew it was worth $600.00. It just was missing the base (found a replacement at brownells for 34.00 but I bought the Daniel Defense one $66.00 for a "riser" and mount) and the lens covers were gone (again brownells for 17.00).

I couldnt beat that deal ever!! I recently found another top Aimpoint red dot at a different pawn shop for 550.00, i think this one is a 700.00.

Ok thanks again for the replies, you put my doubts to bed!

My H1 is similar. 1-7 are worthless in daylight. about 9 is good. On mine the dot isn't very crisp. I must say for the substantial money I'm a bit disappointed. My Primary Arms red dot seems better so far. Meh...

The dot not being 'crisp' on an Aimpoint is usually a eye problem, not a optic problem.

The fine dot on the Aimpoint can look less clear than the larger dot on the PA. I've got both.
