Conversion barrels and accuracy.

Hello all,

I am feeling a touch of the new gun fever lately (maybe you saw my 1911 thread?) and I have always wanted a .357 Sig. I shot a Glock a few years ago in .357 with a compensator on the extended barrel. I loved it. Also I am becoming less and less a fan of the .40S&W. For less than $200 I discovered this on the 'net:

http://www.efkfiredragon.com/fn-fnp-357-sig.html

All that for this:

When you put one of these conversion barrels in a pistol is the point of aim affected?

EDIT: I guess I should have titled it Conversion barrels and point of aim, huh?

Thanks much,

Dan

depends on the gun. never noticed any issues with 40-9 barrels for the 23 and 27.

When switching barrels, I would be prepared for a change in POI. For a caliber conversion, I'd expect a change in vertical POI, in the least.

I have a .357 Sig conversion Federal Arms compensated (ported) barrel for my G22. It features a fully-supported chamber and standard groove and land rifling. It is more accurate than the stock Glock barrel with the same point of impact, and effectively reduces muzzle climb. Fit & finish is perfect, with 100% reliable feeding and functioning at the expense of increased muzzle blast and noise.

I'll sell it for $90

I've owned two conversion barrels for Glocks. The first one (G-20 10mm to .40) shot 2" to the right (or was it left?) at 25 yards compared to the stock barrel. The second one (G-29 10mm to .40) was right on at 25 yards.

I got a change in point of impact with my Glock 26 changing from the standard Glock 9mm barrel to an extended and threaded Storm Lake barrel, also in 9mm. POI seemed to drop about 6" at 25 yards, and the group size doubled with 115gr FMJ.

I have a G23 with the LWD 40-9 conversion and the G32 (357 Sig) barrels. They both shoot fine by me. Good value for the bucks.

I love my Lone wolf 40-9 conversion it also shoots .357 sig as that's 40 necked down to 9mm... I haven't noticed any difference in accuracy... 9mm is much easier to shoot than 40... I have noticed how much less it costs to feed my Glock...
