That looked like the big brother to the Colt Pocket Nine??

I could have sworn it was called the Defender but I cannot find a reference to it anywhere.

This was not a 1911, it looked like a larger Pocket Nine and was the same alloy lower, stainless upper as the Pocket Nine and the Pony.

To the best of my knowledge The Colt Pocket Pistol only was made in 32 Cal and 380.

The Defender is Colt's 3" 1911 with a stainless slide on an aluminum Officer's length frame:

You may be thinking of the Double Eage, which sort of looks like the Pocket Nine. These were double actions that had a health dose of 1911 in their design. Ugly, but they supposedly had pretty nice triggers and work alright. They never were that popular and turned out to be a failure:

There was also a Commander size and Officer's size. All three versions could be had in .45 ACP:

I think Colt offers a DAO version of the New Agent in .45ACP. Stainless slide, alloy frame, trench sight, and a bobbed hammer.
