Can anyone ID these 2 handguns for me and tell me about them. They belonged to a friend's grandfather.

The first one, is a break open single shot .22, I believe. It is marked, "Hopkins & Allen Arms Co, Norwich CT"

The second looks like a Colt Woodsman and is a magazine fed .22 pistol, marked "Schall & Co, New Haven, CONN USA"

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Semi-auto pistol looking pistol is a Fiala manually operated repeater.

Breaktop is a Hopkins & Allen New Model Target.

We had one of those H&As here about three years ago.
Apparently made in small quantity in the early 20th century to compete with the S&W single shots.

Thank you very much!

Both very interesting pieces of firearms history.

Does anyone have any value info on the Schall & Co handgun, or know where I can find it-The Google cupboard was bare.

Keep in mind condition is everything in collector gun prices.

That one appears to be in much better shape then yours.
