What custom bullets do you use

For those of you that shoot benchrest rifle competition, I am curious to get some thoughts on your bullet heads. What do you find are the most consistant in weight and shape?

I just had a 6mm BR made with a 1 in 12 twist and I have had pretty good luck with Berger 80 gr FB's. I know there are many custom bullet makers out there and if you don't mind sharing experiences with me, I would certainly appreciate any advise. I bought 500 from a company which was supposed to be reputable and found a more than desirable difference in weight of them.
I really don't want to experiment paying for 500 at a time, if you know what I mean.

I also, am having a 6.5x47 Lapua made. That will have a 1 in 8 twist. Any thoughts on custom bullets for that would also be a help. I know there are many more custom 6mm heads available than the 6.5s, but there must be some somewhere.

I will experiment with the SMKs and the Bergers, but looking for other options. I have heard good and bad about the new Noslers, all third hand though.

Thanks in advance for any input. I'm not sure if I will get into the benchrest game, but sure do like shooting bughole groups.

I have shot Knight's, Bart's, Gentner's, Watson's, and they all performed extremely well. They, as other custom Benchrest bullets, all come from the same die (one for each maker ;)), unlike production bullets which can come from multiple dies, even bullets in the same box. That is one reason why the custom Benchrest bullet is so consistent.

That makes a lot of sense. Are they all equally consistant in your opinion? I guess it boils down to which shoots best out of your rifle.

They are all outstanding bullets, but yes, just like any rifles, they can like one bullet over another. At the Benchrest level of precision shooting, the differences are very small, and harder to prove. When you lose an aggregate by a few ten thousandths, all 25 shots you took weigh in your mind. Not every shot can win an aggregate, but every shot can lose one. :banghead: .... :)

I shoot Bart's ULTRAs on the recommendation of a long, looong time BR guy. They work well for me. Haven't felt the need to try anything else yet.
