This is an odd one, and is probably going to require more information and better pictures of both sides of the revolver to identify; can you take any measurements of the front and rear of the chambers? That would help to nail down the calibre. It LOOKS like an 1887 or 1892 Nagant revolver, but it's marked as being made in Germany, by the Simson & Co. factory in Suhl. At this time, revolvers like this were adopted by several different European countries, each in their own calibres, and it's possible that this one was contracted out for German build until they got their own manufacturing set-up completed.

If you google Simson Nagant, you should find all the information you need, including a couple of auctions to help with value.

Simpson & Suhl produced Nagant type revolvers for the Argentine and Brazilian militaries, caliber was 11.2mm and people who have them claim light loaded .44 Special or .44 Russian cowboy loads work well.
In the condition pictured you should be able to realize $400-$500 at retail HTH

I don't know if Suhl ever produced the 1895 Nagant?

Does it also have the 100 lbs trigger pull of Russian Nagant, complete with a non-swinging cylinder ?

I think Nagants are some of the most beautiful revolvers ever designed. I'd pick a Russian one up if it wasn't for the goofy ammo or the need to replace cylinder.

There were a number of Nagants made other than the Russian Nagant. They were even made in 44 caliber for South America. The Russian model is unique in its operation and I believe that is the only model that is so. All the Nagants made were very similar in appearance.
