Accurate #5

I am thinking about getting some Accurate #5 for 124gr 9mm. Can someone suggest a load recipe for that combination. Accurate website doesn't have a listing for 124gr 9mm, just 125gr (and 115)

I use 124/125 gr load data interchangably and reference load data for slightly heavier bullet when using a lighter bullet than used in the load data.

I use AA#5, exclusively, for loading 9mm and .45acp. I typically load 124gr fmj. OF COURSE the load data for 125 gr will work fine. My typical load is 6-6.3gr of #5.

did you not find their load manual version 3.5? http://www.accuratepowder.com/load-data/
Lot's of AA#5 data for 124 grain bullets of just about any type.

I load mine at 6.2 gr AA#5,1.140 oal , CCI 500 primer.
Had some unburnt power issues at 5.8 to 6.0 gr but it cleaned up at 6.2gr
Fairly accurate in my P95.

What is the evidence of unburnt powder, so I know what to look for

Powder flakes, or half burned powder flakes. It's pretty obvious.
I have not had any unburnt powder with AA #5 in 9MM, but I use it for near max or max loads. For light loads I use something more appropriate.

What would you consider more appropriate for light 9mm loads?
Thx

Something a bit faster. AA #2, W-231, N320.......
N320 is extremely hard to beat.

I use W231/HP-38 for 9mm practice ammo and for middle hot loads. For top end loads I find Longshot hard to beat.

124/125 is so close, I wouldn't think twice about using that data.
Here's the data from their website
No 5 124 REM GS 5.7 1,002 6.5 1,127 34,544 1.145
No 5 124 SPR GD 5.2 938 5.9 1,061 34,658 1.105
No 5 125 SIE JHP 4.6 903 5.3 1,022 34,552 1.035

I use 6.0gr AA#5 under a Berry's 124gr HBRN @ a 1.135 COL.
Haven't noticed any unburnt powder and is a soft accurate shooter in my pistols.
My sweetheart load (wife) is 4.0gr Bullseye with the 124gr HBRN @ 1.135 COL, but the AA#5 load is a close second.
As for AA#2 I haven't had much luck with it unless it's at the high end of the loading data. YMMV

231 and WST are good for light loads.

A good question MoreisLess. Timely too because I just bought 8lb of #5 yesterday. I've been using for .45ACP and want to use for 9mm too after my N320 runs out.
Thanks for the info everyone.

#5 is great, as are all the Accurate powders. Clean burning, too. Accurate #2 is good for 9mm, too.

I clicked on the load data link and got a blank page? Maybe they don't like Mac's...:)
