Rem 700 sticky bolt

Recently bought a new 700 and it seems the bolt is stiff to get into the chamber. Bolt lift and close are normal. It feels like the lugs are slightly binding with the chamber as the bolt enters, because otherwise the bolt is smooth moving around until the bolt face actually reaches the chamber and it becomes rough. Is there any way I can fix this easily or has anyone experienced anything similar?

You say it's new? Call Remington. I wouldn't start doing anything to a new piece that wasn't operating as it should. Hate to say it but, another of so many problems with current Rem guns.

I bought a new 700 and it would not even chamber a round, you would think they would check for that. Remington supposedly fixes them now, but I don't know for sure.

Have you tried putting a little grease on the bolt lugs, like most of us experienced Remmy 700 users?? :)

1) Clean off the rust-protection (its liquid, but its not a lubricant).
2) Oil well
3) Cycle 5-800 times. They're rough from the factory, but polish up nicely with use.
