Recently I wrote a quick letter to Ruger regarding bringing back pistol carbines in the 9 and 40 caliber. I also added a sentence in about a future 357/38 version. I'd like to ask anyone else interested to also send a quick email to Ruger at the following link. I would love a 40 cal carbine like the pc4. I think the pcc's were not successful due to timing when originally introduced, but now with the cost of ammo, an increase in the idea of home defense and the M1 surplus market drying up; it would be a great time to reintroduce these types of carbines. So if you agree, click the link below and let Ruger know!

Thanks,

Your knocking on the wrong doors.... Most gunmakers won't produce a certain firearm just 'cause a handful of customers wish for it.
You need to put your requests in to one of the distributors (such as Lipsey's or Davidson's, for example) to have a fighting chance at seeing your dream gun made available.
The distributors will go to the manufacturer when they feel there is enough demand for a certain configuration and then work with them to get it done.
Then, the gun is produced as a Limited Run available only thru that distributor.

Hmm, seems like either outlet ( manufacturer or distributor) would want to listen, I know I am most certainly dreaming but I was thinking of more than a limited production run. Ideally I'd like to see enough people speak up to make the dist/manuf at least go "this could be something we should consider." I have never started anything like this. I'm hoping enough people will do this and pass it on in other forums. However, realistically this thread will probably be buried at the bottom of the page tomorrow. Seems to me there would be quite a bit of support for a campaign to get Ruger to bring back the pc9 and pc4. Based on the threads I have read and the prices of pcc's going up steadily. I thought I'd give it shot. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

It's anecdotal, but I contacted Smith & Wesson via email back in ~2007, asking them to put the Model 610 back into production (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=263284). Six months later, they were building them again (and I bought one). :D

I think the timing is a little more ripe than when they first introduced the PCC's. They could probably score a few more orders by making a Glock mag well too.

They better get to it before Glock does or they'll be too late :scrutiny:

Well, I've been after Kel-Tec for years to make a .45, but alas, no joy...

Considering Ruger is going 24/7 catching up on back orders, why would they want to devote a lot of time, money, and resources to develop another production item at this time?

I think a better approach might be some sort of Kickstarter subcription order...get people to put up the money for a production run. This would work OK for relatively off-the-shelf designs. New designs, less so.

I wonder if they listen.

CSMC does that with their shotguns - pay in full up front and you get the gun for a STEEP discount, guarantees a certain quantity for the run

I really kick myself for not buying a Ruger PC9.

I was going back and forth between buying a Marlin Camp Carbine, an H&K 94 or the Ruger PC9.

I should have purchased all three and never looked back.

My goal by starting this was hopefully get those interested in the pcc's to start contacting Ruger, showing that there was a decent amount of people interested in these carbines. This was my response from Ruger:

Thank you for your email. We have no plans at this time but will forward your request to our Marketing Department. Please keep checking our web sight for updates, new models, and availability. Thank you for your interest in Ruger firearms.

Just what I wanted and was hoping I could get more email to the marketing dept.
