I ran across one of these today in my LGS. The receiver is pretty scratched up all over and the blueing is worn in places on the barrel. Still the action seemed tight. Internals looked to have never been cleaned in the past 30yrs. The wood was in decent shape, though.

I am really considering going back and getting it. I figure I can sand down the receiver and paint it flat black, buff/BLO the wood and have a good Christmas present for my youngest son. For $100 just seems I can't go wrong. It seems that there is always demand for pump 410s if I ever wanted to get rid of it.

Question: anyone have any experience with sanding/painting an aluminum reciever?
thanks

Good deal, .410's are lots of fun. Brownells Aluma hyde works great on aluminum receivers.

Go get the .410...also on the Brownells website they have how to videos on the Aluma-Hyde and the other spray type finishes.

Good to hear from you. If you are going to Burdett's, tell Barry I said hello.

If you are going to Champion, tell Katie and Mike I said hello :).

Take care,

$100 for a 410 pump is something you don't let lay. You will be very lucky if it is still there when you return
