I just bought a Model 60 with a 3" barrel yesterday, and I'm waiting on my sheriff's department to complete the background check for my CC license. In the meantime, I'm ordering a bull hide belt from Beltman and looking for a holster.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to carry IWB. From the ones that I've examined and seen in use (some of the instructors demonstrated the use of various holster designs at my CCW class), that seems the best solution for a high degree of concealment.

I'm of average build (5'11", 185 lbs), and I have a budget of $150. What holster would you recommend?

I'm sure others will come by too, it comes down to a number of factors. I tried many holsters, I would recommend something leather with an offset clip or off set loops. I haven't tried them personally, but the holsters at lobo gun leather look really good and are really good prices. I have a tuckable holster for a 642 with an offset clip and it helps reduce the bulk of the holster having a clip over the cylinder.

I'd start at Milt Sparks for either a Summer Special/Summer Special II or a Versa Max II (VM II).

The J-Frame is such a small gun, and the 3" barrel is pretty short, you may be able to get away with a high riding OWB holster. Lobo Gun Leather, as mentioned above, may have some good options, like their "Enhanced Pancake".

Another high ride option would be the Mitch Rosen "Upper Limit".

For IWB Milt Sparks is hard to beat. That being said I have an IWB from Lobo for my S&W 442 and it is as close to invisible as possible. I also have 5 other holsters form Lobo, all OWB as well as three of Roy's belts and they are great.

Also give a look to sideguard holsters. Erik has a holster with an ofset snap or clip. Wearing my 642 in one now
