I picked this up at a local pawn shop out of a bin of holsters. Most were junk and I got this one for $15. I've been wanting something for my S&W mod 38 and this works well.

It was made by Hunter, but I think the uppermost snap was added later. The original one won't work with the grip adapter in place, but the upper is perfect for use with the adapter.

It's in decent shape, but I'd like to fix it up a bit. Does anyone know how I could repair the retention strap and other areas of wear?

ETA: It works well with my gun, but looks like it was made for a 3 inch kit gun or similar.

Husker Fan, you found a nice little holster there. That retention strap looks like it would be easy enough to replace, its gonna be matching the dye that would be tough. Also make certain that the back sides of those snaps aren't rubbing up against that shooter when its in the holster, that will wear into the finish real quick.. Also, carful with that there trigger exposed, with the hammer covered and the retention strap not keeping the hammer held in place all it would take is something getting stuck in that trigger guard and bang. Safe shootin.

Thanks Matt. It's not near as nice as the avenger style holster I have for my hi-power ;)

I actually have some felt circles for putting on picture frames that I was thinking of putting over the snaps inside the holster to protect the finish.
