I'd put a little more thought and words into your OP. The mods here frown on drive by threads.

I dont know what you mean? The police clearly have over reacted to this situation, and the comedic value of it is enhanced by clicking the link ...

Thats not what the people that are writing your history books are saying.

I think what Jeff was getting at is that we like a few words of description to alert our readers of just what they're about to click on. Who knows, your link might go to some discussion of "marital aids"!

While we certainly don't need to promote another thread filled with G.B.-bashing, the very absurdity of this statement does boggle the mind...
...charged with possession of an imitation firearm,...
They know what it was, he didn't claim it was anything else, apparently, and yet they're going to charge him with possession of an imitation firearm? ... Wait a minute -- it's illegal to possess an IMITATION firearm? Oy vey!

Considering how many places over here where a frantic phone call to police that someone was carrying a firearm in public would be met with, "Yes ... and?," we may yet again weep for our pals across the pond. :(

I doubt the poor bloke charged is very amused. Reminds me of that case in the UK where a vet found guns discarded behind his house and called the cops about turning them in. When he showed up at the station he was immediately arrested for possession. Was later convicted.

Apparently they don't have RKBST over there.
I'm sure you can guess what that stands for.

I usually don't click on anything. Perhaps with half a description and or vested assurances, I might.

ok then, it's about a bloke who was walking up the street after a drunken row with his girlfriend (or something like that) and the neighbours thought he had a gun in his belt.

It turned out to be another sort of weapon ...

(I'm sure you've spoilt it all now though :( :) )

This is the kind of answer I was hoping for :p

This is why I discourage open carry....

What kind of holster for a (...)....

My wife's looking for something she can handle....

How much recoil....

When stippling is a bad idea...

Poll: Polymer or Steel?...

I can do this all day

I'm still knocked out that, while the object WASN'T a firearm -- not even an imitation firearm -- they're still going to charge him with possession of an imitation firearm, apparently because someone ELSE made a mistake and thought it was one. REALLY?

"We're charging you with murder because Mrs. Wilson thought she saw you kill Mr. Smith."
"But I didn't kill Mr. Smith!"
"No, and he's not even dead. But that's what she thought she saw, so the charge stands. Now don't make a fuss -- off you go!"
:what:

Somehow this dialogue needs to be voiced by Eric Idle and Michel Palin.

The mind wobbles.

Oh... and I'll say again -- it is illegal to posess a PRETEND gun! Like, that's a CRIME. Just un-flippin'-believable.

It might not have been an imitation firearm, but apparently, it WAS an imitation 'gun'... of the small-caliber, single-shot variety.

The imitation ones aren't dangerous, of course, but the real ones ARE... think of all the tragic lives senslessly caused by stupid accidents...

It is amusing, for sure.

As this actually isn't firearms related, let's drop it. Poor Britain. :(
