Few years back I picked up a used model 70 and I'd like to know which particular model it is. Only descriptions on the gun itself are "Winchester Trademark" on the right side of the bolt, "Winchester Model 70 30-06 Sprg, Made in New Haven CT USA" not quite half way down the barrel and the serial number G2273XXX. It has a synthetic stock, blind, 4 round magazine and the 3 position safety. Any info would be nice, thanks.

Sounds like one of the budget guns made a few years back. The "Black Shadow". Other than an inexpensive stock and matte finish on the metal it is a decent gun. They are pushfeed rather than the controled round feed used on the more expensive guns, but that wouldn't keep me from buying one. I'd bet you can get 5 rounds in the magazine +1 more in the chamber.

Thanks, I figured it was something like that. I can stuff 5 in the mag, but it takes so much effort to get it to feed, it ain't worth it...
