Anyone know of a synthetic stock for a 870 that is cheaper than the one walmart has for 54.00?

Brownell's has several stocks, wood and synthetic for the Remington. Don't know prices though.

Check ebay, AuctionArms, or Gunbroker for Speedfeed, Hogue, or Remington factory synthetic stocks...

I second eBay. You can find new stocks there a lot cheaper than Wal-Mart.
