Springfield Customer Service

I have a Springfield P9, which is a fairly rare CZ75 clone, that has been having a problem with occasional light primer strikes. I called Springfield yesterday to try to locate parts for it and they are sending me a call tag to send it back to them. I'm impressed that they would do such a thing for a discontinues gun that was sold in 1989. I just figured that that level of customer service deserve a positive post.

sent my XD to get the polymer frame replaced. It took 1 month to get it back, which was due to the part being backordered. Once the replacement part arrived, it took 1.5 weeks to get the XD back.

Overall, please with the Springfield, good customer service.

They told me they would replace the front "ns" on my EMP, but after hearing that they were running 2 to 3 months behind, I decided to let a local gunsmith do it. I waited 5 months for the sight to arrive. It came in today, i went there and he spent a good hour,while he installed it. They had to "make it" I saw the invoice. It is an off size. He needed to redrill the hole for the stake, as this new one was longer than the old one, but it's also easier to see, as it has the white ring around it.
I wasn't going to lay up a gun for 5 months while they waited to make the part. I figure the gunsmith would be able to get it quicker than I would, "who knows". It looks great and I can pick it up much easier than the small one it came with, "which I could never pick up fast". The cost was $80.00 to do the whole job, that's an hour with a very well known gunsmith doing it. I watched him drill the new stake hole. I never would have got it on as easy as he did. So I guess it was worth the money to have the gun, and have a guy who used a leather vise with upmost care, doing the work.
I have read some horror stories of guys getting back guns with scratches and gashes in them. Sometimes "free" isn't free"

I had an issue with an EMP 9mm front sight, I called Springfield, they emailed a mailing label in about an hour and the slide was back to me in less than a week with a new sight perfectly installed.

How long ago was that. Things have change recentlly, Ruger stopped all sales a month or two ago in an effort to "catch up" on pre exhisting orders. Gun companys have been overun with orders latelly and are falling way behind. My gunsmith today told me again about ruger. forget what they say on the phone, they will not be shipping any new guns untill they get caught up.
I am sure the other manufacturers are the same. You just cannot get certain things period. The election and world events have people running scared. Gun stores don't know if and when they will get their orders filled, they are happy to get what they can, let alone warantee work.
6-12 months ago things were different. I got a recoil spring assembly 6 months ago in a week. But gunsmith work is way out of sorts. I for one won't let a gun out of my hands for a minor repair. If they send the part thats fine but if they want the gun instead, I would prefer to pay a few bucks and maintain possesion of the firearm. Things are happening too quicklly to be "trusting" companys to get you your gun back in a timely manner.

Yep, We sell lots of Springfield's and there customer service has always been great.

Yep, they took care of me also. My springer 1911 had a rear sight that was under sized. I mic'd the old sight and they sent me the next size larger saying the sights were hand fit to the dovetail in the individual pistol and they had a variety of sizes to meet MFG tolerances.

No muss, no fuss, I had it within 3 days. Great CS all handled via email.

They are great to deal with if you have any issues and SACS will do some outstanding custom work.
