Cute package, isn't it? (
This one is intended more for use in discussions, should anyone bring up the idea of banning guns because of harm doen with them. Maybe it can be phrased more clearly...

Nicely done, Oleg.

Porn isn't illegal. Nor does everyone consider it wrong. Making a comparison to murder is illogical, in my opinion.

Maybe rearrange it so the gun flows first, and phrase it:

"Restrict guns to stop murders?"
"Then restrict cameras to stop child porn."

Or something like that.

Love the travel kit.

January 30, 2003, 08:36 PM
I'll second cordex opinion of saying child porn. Makes a stronger point.

"But Oleg! Cameras and toothbrushes aren't designed to KILL people!"
:banghead: :banghead:

What kind of asocial nutcase would attempt dental hygiene at home? Everyone knows such things are best left to professionals. :neener:

You need to replace the ellipses (...) at the bottom of the second poster with a period. Ellipses indicate something has been removed or left out.

January 30, 2003, 09:32 PM
Simple, to the point & well said and illustrated! Good work!

January 30, 2003, 09:34 PM
Very nice. I also agree with Cordex's logic.

January 30, 2003, 09:37 PM
Gun details, please? ;)

January 30, 2003, 09:52 PM
I'll have to agree with Cordex as well on the camera one, otherwise good work.

January 30, 2003, 09:57 PM
I like them just fine!

That's my Grendel P-12 .380 double-stack 12 round DAO.

About as accurate as a handful of gravel, but it's 4" X 6" X 1" X 16 ounces loaded, and was $80 "used" as you see it there, with case, documentation and two mags.

Shoots very reliably. Reasonable kick. Trigger as heavy as you'd expect from DAO.

"child porn" was my original caption :) I'll just restore it.

January 30, 2003, 10:08 PM
Two home runs.... :D

The ellipsis in the second poster is correct as indicating that "the rest of the thought is understood," but it needs a period since the punctuation symbol that is an ellipsis consists of 3 dots and a period is to follow if the missing words end the sentence.

January 30, 2003, 10:08 PM
Oleg, These I like! :D

It doesn't matter if porn is legal or illegal, the inference is, the tool should not be the issue! However, the wording "child porn" adds kick!

January 30, 2003, 10:27 PM
My old tagline was : Guns cause crime like cameras cause child pornography.

Ban cameras...for the children!!!

January 30, 2003, 11:04 PM
"Ahhhhh! Cameras!!!!"

January 30, 2003, 11:29 PM
"child porn" was my original caption I'll just restore it.
I agree, Oleg. "Child porn" illicits a more visceral response from the viewer and REALLY gets one's attention (along with getting an excellent point across).

Fantastic analogy, by the way!

Updated the camera/gun poster to simplify a bit.

January 31, 2003, 12:14 PM
Good work!

January 31, 2003, 12:20 PM
Very nice...why the lone dull colored round?? Is it just for contrast or did you run out of shinny ones???

January 31, 2003, 12:27 PM
Looks good, Oleg.

January 31, 2003, 12:44 PM
Remember, we're talking to anti-s here. Pathogen might be a little too intellectual for 'em!;)

Maybe germs?

But, good job, as always!

January 31, 2003, 06:42 PM
Great work as always, Oleg!

Another variant, based in part on a PM from cordex. (

February 6, 2003, 02:40 PM
Nice graphic, but innacurate statement. Despite hopeful thinking, registration of private property is legal.

Suggest reword to something like "Registration of private property only tell sthe bad guys where to look for it."

Standing Wolf
February 6, 2003, 08:40 PM
Definitely better! Well done.

February 7, 2003, 12:27 PM
What about registering cars? Or other property?

Oleg Volk
February 7, 2003, 12:32 PM
I'll have to clarify the caption. Cars only have to be registered for driving on public roads, not for use on private land.

February 7, 2003, 12:36 PM
But the property itself is registered with the state government, right?
