Guys, i just bought a hornady Lock N Load AP progressive press. I know i have seen a youtube video of an RCBS case loader on a hornady LNL but my question is will a Dillon case feeder work? does anyone have any experience with either or both or see any reason why it wouldnt work?

I was going to buy the Hornady case feeder, however I have access to a new in the Box Dillon case feeder for free. Essentially if it will work i can have it.

any input will be appreciated.

thanks

I have a Dillon case feeder on my 650XL and it works lime a charm. Whether or not it will work on the Hornady LNL I can't say. However if I may make a suggestion, why not sell the Dillon case feeder online (read Ebay) at a fair price and buy the Hornady unit. I would assume that less case feeding problems would occur for you this way. I never believed in mix and matching reloaders and major accessories. Hopefully others will chime in with a better answer. :)

well, the reason i dont sell is because it belongs to my girlfriends father, not me. he has never unboxed it or used it and told me if it will work on my press i can get it.

if not he will just hang on to it, as he has 3 dillon presses and may use it some day

i too wasnt much on the idea of the mix and match, but if it works, it works i guess

i am really thinking it wont without major modification anyway

thanks for your response

if you have the parts that shuttle the case into the shellplate then yes Dillons feeder would work. I tried e/m Hornady about getting those parts to that as I figured I would just move the collator between my 1050 and a LnL but never got a reply back

Dillons term for "case feed" is actually just a collator (with the exception of the 550) the actual case feed is part of the base machine on the 650. This is why the "case feeder" for the LNL cost more than the Dillon. Also one reason the base 650 costs more than the LNL.
