I recently ordered my dad a Sig Sauer 1911 Tac Ops for fathers day. Also a set of VZ grips and a few chip mccormick 10rd magazines. My question is does anyone else have one of these, have you had any issues with them. Is there anything I may need to change before I had it over to my pops? I got him into guns a fews years back to give him a retirement hobby

I have some 1911 experience, but not specifically with a Sig Tac Ops. The one comment I will make is, in .45ACP at least, the 1911 is not a 10 round pistol. Here is a blog post from the late Mr. Camp that should serve you and your father well regarding 1911 magazines.
I have the Sig 1911 railed TacPac (similar to TacOps without the night sights, ambi safety and mag well). Like TacOps' reputation, it has been very accurate and reliable (during my sub $1000 CA legal 1911 evaluation last year, it essentially out shot most other pistols).
Even with the black Nitron finish, they are built on stainless frame and slide with match grade barrel/trigger.
If you reload, only issue I have run into is that the barrel has very quick start of rifling with almost no leade so I need to seat the bullet deeper.
I have the TacOps and mine has ran very well. I use a mixture of the stock mags that came with it and also my numerous CMC 8rd Powermags in it. I never bought or tried any of the 10rd CMC Powermags in it, if the 10 rounders are anything like the 8rd Powermags they should work just fine. I have four different Sig 1911s and all of them have ran great for me. I highly recommend Sig 1911s.

I own a Tac Ops. Your father is going to love it. I find it a very sturdy and accurate weapon.

Wow...awesome Father's Day gift. That is a great setup you don't need to do anything to it.

I love my sig tac ops! it was the beginning of an unhealthy sig sauer addiction for me. it eats anything and is accurate even with wolf ammo, i have a dozen mags for it, the four originals(which appear to be checkmate mags) some cmc power mags and some cmc star mags and some italian mags from my old armscor( i put tripp research cobra mag internals into these mags) about 600 rounds in and ZERO MALFUNCTIONS, the nitron is tough and is not marred by kydex holsters(serpa) my next purchase is going to be some vz grips(operater II in black cherry) overall i could not be happier

I bought a TacOps Carry TB a couple months ago. I had a buddy pestering me to check out SIG's offerings. I couldn't, however, get into the P-series. I like 1911's, I had a half dozen already so I figured I could get him off my back and add to my collection.
This one is, without a doubt, the most accurate of the whole bunch. Only shot about 300 rds through it so far but it's had ZERO malfs with ball, SWC's and HP's.
Trigger is EXCELLENT, saftey is a positive on/off "click", not mushy, the slide to frame fit is smooth right out of the box and the barrel locks up tight with no looseness or rattles and did I mention it's accurate :D!!
I think I might be hooked on these SIG 1911's! I see a Scorpion in my future!
