I have a pro carry ll, stainless slide, which i have had for several years. It has given me good service. The only gripe I have is the black on black sites. Sometimes hard to pick up when shooting at dark targets. Other than that, no complaints. The gun has a great trigger. It's better than a TRP that I have and approaches a Wilson CQB which is amazing since the Wilson cost three times what the Kimber cost. Absolutely no creep in that trigger:)

Use nail polish, makes the sites easier. My only gripe is the RH only safety as I am LH; otherwise it shoots every brand, various reloads, etc., all with no failures to feed, fire, eject, etc.

good gun

My favorite carry gun! Power, reliable, and it looks great! I put C.T.grips on mine. I use Wilson 8rd.mags.in it & usealy shoot win.JHP.S. This will probably be the only 1911A1 that I will ever need at this point in life!

Test fire it first, if you can. See if you like it, see if it functions correctly.

Lots of people bitch about Kimbers (most have probably never seen one, let alone owned one). I have owned eight Kimbers so far and they work for me...which is why I keep buying them.

I carried a steel Eclipse Pro II (36 oz) for the last two years; I am carrying an Ultra Carry II (24 oz) today and for the last two weeks or so.

I shoot the 4" steel version a bit better, but the smaller/lighter one is so much more pleasureable to carry...

Friend of mine bought my Classic Stainless LE (pre-II series) a few months ago and recently bought a Kimber Pro Carry II (bobtailed with CT laser). His first range visit put ~200 rounds downrange perfectly, with no issues.

They were his 200 gr SWC handloads, and he is a new handloader--his first .45 acp loads, although he has been loading .38 Spl for almost a year.
