Just picked this up, very good shape, Gun is tight as a drum, and the blueing is pretty good except for the cylinder.
32 cal
serial number 317xx
no other markings other than the rollmark on top of the barrel
Does anyone have any info on year of production and/or value

No, it's NOT pre-Clinton...
The Clinton Cartridge Company... :)
Given the serial number, date of manufacture is pretty early, probably 1892-94.
Definitely should be curio & relic.

Ya got a neat little gun there. It’s a Smith & Wesson 32 Safety Hammerless; New Departure; 1st Model. Production started in 1888 and when the 2nd. Model was introduced in 1902 some 91,417 revolvers had been made. Production ended in 1937 (3rd. model) at serial number 242,981. It’s chambered for the .32 S&W cartridge, which is still in production. Don’t dry fire it because you can break the firing pin. Over the years barrel lengths were offered in 2”, 3”. 3 ½”, (most common) and 6” (which is rare). The most common finish is nickel plate and blued guns command a small premium when they are in good shape. The grips are made of hard rubber and if they aren’t cracked or chipped it’s unusual and increases the gun’s value. On a collector’s scale your picture shows a piece in “very good” to “fine” condition and it’s probably worth somewhere between $200 to $250 – perhaps a bit more given that it has a blued finish and the grips appear to be intact. The low serial number indicates pre-1898 production, which makes it a legal antique under the 1968 GCA. S&W used to advertise them in later years as a better alternative to a .25 automatic, which it is. Unless you know how and have the necessary tools don’t try to detail strip it – it’s built like a watch on the inside. Clean it by removing the grips and cylinder and soaking everything (except the grips) in a solvent bath. Kerosene will work fine.

Well thank you
Yes the grips are in great shape.
I was in the shop today and the guy brought it out from the back to show me, got it for $150, so I'm pretty darn happy about it.
