I am a little bit stunned. I thought this was a hoax at first but it appears to be real.

According to the article these things are backordered already.

A little late for an April Fools joke, don't you think?

Look at the date of the article - April 1st. This was CTD's April Fools Day prank. It is still a hoax.

I THOUGHT it might have been a hoax! The thing that tipped me off is the fact that there is no notch in the slide for the safety or slide stop.

Well it was certainly ugly enough to be real... Yikes.

GLOCK cannot build complete guns quickly enough to meet demand due to the 2012 Lanyard Loop Shortage, of which we are all aware.

That 2012 laynard loop shortage was a good clue too!!

I like this photoshopped Glock 1911 version better. Much more believable and nicely done, but still a fake - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=652530

Here's the original picture, Ed Brown's Molon Labe Special - http://lundestudio.com/2010SHOTShow/edbrown.html

Other the ugle gun I'm pretty sure the part where I decided it wasn't real was when they called it a "game changer." That clearly makes it a Red Jacket Custom Glock/1911.

Usually means its a hoax if someone says "I thought it was a hoax, but its not!"

Should Glock ever make a 1911, I imagine it will be an abomination similar to the link in OP.

protected by no less than 12 safety systems including the integral trigger safety, grip safety, thumb safety, other thumb safety, slide lock safety, half-cock safety, and 3 triple-redundant firing pin safeties. The inside of the slide is rumored to be a maze of springs and detents

This wasn't a clue! Thumb safety, other thumb safety! lol

There isn't a weapons manufacturer in the world that could create a 1911 that would be a "game changer"

How about a 1911 without the "toggling link" attached to the barrel. Instead it could operate like the Browning Hi-Power using the cam and bar. Also use an external extractor.

S&W was able to use the external extractor with success.

I've wondered if the "power extractor" Para-Ordnance designed and manufactured would have worked if they made higher quality MIM parts or machined parts.

Clearly you haven't seen the Red Jacket 1911, it's better than all other 1911s because some people in harm's way bought 4 of them for $17,000.

It's easy to pick on Owen Sparks for missing some pretty obvious tells in that description, but if someone would have told me 3 years ago that we'd have a major manufacturers cranking out zombie-themed ammo, grips, holographic sights, and other bits, I would have thought it was a joke.

Who knows what the future will hold.

If you guys want to discuss a game-changer 1911, please start a new thread so we don't rehash this old joke anymore

Thanks.
