Are there any currently produced 10rd mags that equal the reliability of factory mags?

I've run a coupla hundred rounds through a couple of ss promag ten round mags without any problems. The bolt holds open after the last round and they insert easily.

I had purchased 4 John Masen 10rnd mags, all 4 did not work. I returned them to John Masen and they sent me 4 new ones. 3 out of the 4 work. On 1 of the 3 working mags the bottom plastic cracked.

I think the 10rnd promags would be a good choice.

I found some from my dealers which are actually factory 10 rounders. They are new, I have no idea who manufactures them, but they work great. Same as the Ruger 5 rounders except they don't have the R stamped on the bottom.

I guess you know the answer is not Triple-K. Like others have said elsewhere (TFL), the Triple-K ten rounder I have looks nice, works bad.:p

Promags are the only ones that come to mind. Promags have the best reliability of currently produced mags and supposedly Promag is in negotiaions with Ruger to produce factory mags for them. Personal, I'd prefer some preban PMI mags for a Mini-14, and use the Promags for range plinkers, but that's me.

I've had good luck with the 10-round Promag ss. So far, there seems to be no functional difference between them and my Ruger 5 rounders.

Who is making the curent 5 rd mags for Ruger? I wonder with Bill Ruger gone if the policy will change and Ruger will start offering 10rd mags for the Mini. Anyone heard any rumors?

I believe Ruger is making the 5 round mags themselves. I haven't heard any new rumors about them making a 10 rounder, although I would buy a bunch if they would. I check the Mini-14 board at www.perfectunion.com periodically to see if there is any news - I will post to this board if I hear anything.

I have heard that Ruger did at one time make 10 rounders, but they seem to be rarer than hen's teeth.

I vote for ProMags too. I have 3 of them and they work just fine.

John Masen 10 rounders work fine as well. The mag issue's of the Mini 14 have become very familiar to me, as it's the only .223 that I can own in the PRK . I have found to PROMAG SS to be a bit ill fitting, and thus prefer the Masens.
