Nice! Is the adjustable comb standard or an option?

picture is not mine. Did not opt for an adjustable comb...

Milkmaster, I had the luxury of a 725 loaner. Had it for two days, it was a 30" model. Very easy to shoot and I broke a good number of clays, but like any gun, had to make physical and mental adjustments. Swings like a dream...

Respectfully Old Unc', you won't break it in this week. It will take a lot longer than that to break in such a fine gun. Congratulations.

the outside temps alone, will preclude me from even shooting this weekend...

no adjustable comb needed. Brownings fit me right out of the box. I guess I'm lucky...

here it is, sitting below my 2010 Shot Show 20g/30" White Lightning. The 725 is not that much larger...

Very nice. How's the recoil on the new gun?
Old Unc'
July 6, 2012, 06:19 AM
no noticeable recoil at all. It's still a nominal 8 pound gun with a great recoil pad to suck up any teeth jarring...

I've been thinking of getting one of these. What's you conclusion after six months usage?

I had a Citori special trap edition in the early 90's. Fabulous clay buster. I really wish mine had the nitrided reciever though something about my body chemistry and Brownings high gloss blue doesnt mix, the Blueing was gone off the bottom of the reciever after my first year using the gun. One of the many I kick myself for letting go. Georgous wood on both guns by the way. Make sure to grease the barrel trunuions and the locking blocks and they will last forever.

I guess it's almost 6 months now. The 725 definitely feels like an extension of myself. Most of the time I shoot it really well, and some of the time I have the usual difficulties, like raising my head off the stock for second shots. Not a good practice, but that's not the gun's fault. All in all, I really like the gun. It splits time with my Benelli Super Sport...

Thanks Old Unc for the update. Do you have an opinion on how the field vs clay versions compare? Anything you dislike about the 725?
Old Unc'
December 7, 2012, 03:20 AM
IMO the only real difference between the sporter and the field version is the length of the barrels. Basically, they are the exact same gun. Minor differences; adjustable trigger, choke tubes, porting, sights...

These guns are nice!
I just purchased an A400 Xtreme for hunting but also went to Briley yesterday for a set of choke tubes. I hope to get into skeet and eventually sporting clays with the A400 and then switch to an O/U at some point.

Beretta makes some of the the softest shooting autoloaders. I prefer inertia driven autoloaders myself, because they take nothing to clean, maybe twice a year...
