Tokarev holster

Here are some pictures of a holster that I made for my Yugo Tokarev. I tried to make it similar to a paddle holster for a revolver. I couldn't find a good ccw holster for it so I had to make one. I hardened the leather then treated it to make it conform to the pistol.

'Bout time somebody made a carry holster for a Tok. I like it. It looks like a belt slide holster for a 1911, but with more protection for the slide.
How did you harden the leather? I'm curious, because I need to make a holster for my Pedersoli Howdah Pistol.

Soak the leather in water for few hours to get it soft to work with and then dry the completed holster in a dehydrator. I coat the holster with Danish oil after the holster has been dried for a day. To get the fit right I used the pistol as the mold.

Very nice work. I love my Tokarev, but never really carry it. I think a 1911 Commander holster would fit one perfectly, though.
What do you use for a dehydrator? Your oven?

FWIW,
You don't need to soak the leather for more than 30 seconds. A drop of dish soap in the water can help it soak in better. The leather should be almost dry when you mold the holster.
Your holster looks good. Good job.

I used a homemade convection(no fan) dehydrator. It doesn't get any hotter about 150 degrees.
