I ordered it off of gallery of guns Wednesday and Picked it up Friday. Fit and finish is perfect. The action is tight. I was worried after reading all the horror stories about new "remlins" but am very pleased. I couldn't get to the range this weekend but hopefully next weekend I can find some time. Range report coming soon.

I'm hearing more and more that your experience is becoming the norm, as opposed to the exception.
Congratulations, and give us a range report when you can.

My 'Remlin' 1895 is a fine rifle.
Congrats on your new 336; I love mine!

I've already decided on the Redfield Revolution 2x7 for my scope but I can't decide on traditional mounts or see thru mounts. If i go with the see thru mounts I'll upgrade the iron sights right away to some fiber optic sights as well. Anybody got any recomendations on either the sights or scope mounts?

I have see through on my 336 and my 1894C, and ghost rings on my 1894, I like the see through mounts but there are a lot of people who don't.

Ghost rings on my 1894 357 and will be on my 1895. Standard sights on my 44 mag.
The 336 I have (stolen from a buddy :) ) has a decent scope. If it were 'really' mine I would without stopping to think more about it put a leverevolution scope on it. In fact I'm considering doing it anyway as if my buddy ever does get it back it would be a nice gift for loaning it to me for so long.
I have a Redfield on my 30-06: nothing wrong with it at all. I guess I've just bought into the hype on the Leverrevolution stuff. Anyway: I have heard only good things about their scopes and I love their bullets.
2-7x40 sounds just about right for the 30-30 though.

I don't like see thru mounts because they force me to put my head way up to see through the scope. I can put a 2-7x32mm scope on the 2x setting and see/shoot better than the irons anyway.
