ApacheCoTodd July 2, 2012, 08:34 PM Pretty cool. For what it's worth... It's actually Hudson's Bay (regarding the old knives). I'm a big fan of old and new gear from them. JimStC July 3, 2012, 05:26 AM That knife looks like it will do its job. What are the specs, if you don't mind? Jim Mikee Loxxer July 3, 2012, 06:37 AM Jim, The Condor knife has a hardwood handled attached with brass pins. The blade is 8 inches in length with the knife having an overall length of 13 inches. The 3/16" thick blade is 1075 carbon steel with a convex grind. It's got what I believe is a thin epoxy coating and a hammered texture in order to look aged and of the period. This knife is easy to keep sharp using a mousepad and 400 grit sandpaper. I think I paid about $30 for it. 22-rimfire July 3, 2012, 07:00 AM The Condor Hudson Bay is a good value and a knife I really like. (Yes, that is the correct name for the knife.) Blade is 8 3/8" and weighs 1.28 lbs according to the Condor catalog. Cool that you posted the new and the old. My initial thought was that the handle needed to be bigger in diameter. But if I am going to use it as a knife, the handle is just about right. JimStC July 3, 2012, 07:25 AM Took a look at some other Condors. They seem to be good knives with good value. Thanks for the heads up Mike. I like the wooden handles. I've been picking up some Jeff White knives for the kitchen. Great wooden handles. Jim BCCL July 3, 2012, 11:23 AM Condor makes great stuff.
