Have run across a Ruger SP101 9mm in very good condition, 2 inch barrel. Mechanically in great shape. Has a few surface scratches. He wants $260. Is this a good deal? Thanks.

Yes, IMO.

9mm SP101s are not terribly common, and that's a good price... not the deal of the century, but with new SP101s selling in the low to mid $300s...

Gee, Mark G,

If you haven't bought it already send me the particulars (not the other guys :-) and I'll buy it. No sense buying something unless you're sure. I, by difference, am sure I want one. (Ooops!)

I think that's a good deal, and one you won't regret. I have a 940 that I like a lot, but I think an SP would be a positive delight to shoot - and it uses the same moon clips!

Oh, and $260 is what I have in my 940. If I were to find an SP as you described for that price, I would buy it, period.

Sounds like a good deal. I had a 3 inch 9mm version that I did not keep because I thought it was not one of Ruger's best examples of fit and finish so I traded it off. Wish I still had one though since they have dropped it from the line. I do love the .357 versions of the SP101.
