Does anyone load 30 carbine ammo using cast bullets? If so, do they shoot well, and could you share your recipes? Thanks-Fatelvis

I don't, but a friend does. I THINK he uses either 2400 or 296. I'll ask him.

If you are in any kind of competition with your carbine I had made a hundred 4 cavity 125 grain bevel base Calif Saeco competition quality molds with handles for use with tire weights alloyed with some linotype for the best best results and I have only three of the molds left. Contact me about them.

I'm interested in load data too. An Uncle made me up a bunch of gas checked HP's, I've never used them for lack of load data.

My Lyman 47th edition shows 2 bullet weights for cast.
These are with small rifle primers.
113gr. #2alloy Unique start= 5.5gr max=6.5
113gr. #2alloy 2400 start=11.0gr max=12.5 comp. charge.
130gr.#2alloy Unique start=4.9gr max=6.1
130gr.#2alloy 2400 start=10.5gr max=12.0 comp. charge.
Hope this can help you.

Thanks guys. Will the lead bullets mess up the gas system?
Not if you have enough linotype in your alloy and you clean your weapon like the soldiers do after a shooting session.

For anyone reading this thread who wishes to shoot in volume like with a group of like competitors I have two .30M1 carbine Star reloaders and the bullet molds to go with them plus over 10,000 once fired carbine brass.
It is nice to have fellows who can provide load information to my list.
