I traded for a Stoeger 22 pistol today do any of you know anything of this gun. Works good shot 100 rds this afternoon no FTF/FTE accurate.
It has Luger on the left side and works like a Luger but has US Pat. Off under Luger name, the right side has Stroeger S. Hackensack, NJ on it . S.N.CL04xxx.
Thanks

You have what you think you have --a Stoeger Luger --22
Stoeger was an importer through most of the last century--
I don't believe they ever"MADE" anything--
Stoeger was most recently purchased by Beretta--(2000)--
You may well have an ERMA LA-22 made between 1964 and 67
I think that was the Stoeger import--But I don't know for sure--

The Stoeger Luger .22 was their own design, not the same as a Erma. I don't know who actually made them.
In the 1975 Shooter's Bible the Luger was $89.95 with fixed sights, $99.95 adjustable; and the Ruger was $51.50 Standard and $75.85 Mk I Target.
Stoeger kept the Luger trademark in their name for years. So they were able to make an entirely different gun under the brand name when they wanted to. Looks strange, the next page in that 1975 Shooter's Bible has the real reintroduced Mauser Parabellum that could NOT be marked Luger because Stoeger would not let them. But they sold the guns.
