Took a trip to the local gun show today. This is a show that a decade or so ago my wife and I worked. The show is in a Cleveland, Ohio suburb at the fairgrounds. This is about a 1200 plus table show so it is big to say the least.

I had a few guns in mind I was looking for. The first was a Colt Government Model Mk 4 Series 70. I sold one to a friend years ago and have always missed that pistol. Then the friend died and his place was raped and pillaged by family so that gun is gone forever. Based on some online looking and pricing I expected to pay around $1,000 to $1,100 give or take if I could even fine one. I finally found one, in that entire show I saw one. Private seller and he had some nice guns on his table. I asked to look at and handle the gun. The pistol was mint with no signs of wear. Looked like it was never even shot. Original owners manual but no box, not that I cared. I figured nothing to lose so asked what he would take? He wanted $900 which was great but I asked what he would take as to cash right now. I bought the gun for $800 and was a happy camper. Time to order some parts from Brownell's this evening. :)

Also saw hundreds of Mosin Nagants 91/30 in the $135 to $140 range. Really some nice clean good wood in the lots too. Actually thought about buying one for the hell of it but didn't.

Then I saw a PA63 FEG 9 X 18 little pistol. This was a guy we knew from years ago who always has a few tables. He primarily did flea market stuff but had a few guns out there. The PA 63 was out for $150 and I should have grabbed it. The more I think about it maybe tomorrow I'll drive back and get it. Hell it's worth the $150 he wants.

Here is the Colt .45 Government Series 70 that I did come away with:

Even my wife was asking since I got the Colt for so much less than I planned to pay why I didn't buy more stuff. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Overall it was a pretty good gun show. :)

I may go back just for that little PA 63. We are in Bedford Heights so not that far. Overall I would say it was one of the better shows.

Also saw a Remington 511P nice little .22. I have one and thought about it but the guy wanted $150 (low as he would go) and someone had really hacked the stock forearm down on it. Damn shame as it would have left me looking for a stock.

I also looked at some AR 15 uppers from a company called Sherluk. Never heard of them? Nice looking stuff and I have been thinking about building up a heavy 20" barrel AR with a floating hand guard. Their stuff looked good but I just didn't know.

Looked at some M1 Garands also. The average was about $950. Some looked pretty good and some were pure junk. Can't believe how those have gone up so much in price.

Anyway, if you have the time tomorrow shoot over to the show. Can't hurt to look around for six bucks. :)

Real nice Colt you picked up and yes I agree it was a great gunshow experience today.

I just started a new post on the gun I picked up today from the show. Check it out!
