I have two 6X X42 tacticals. The old ones with 1" tubes. If they make that red dot like everything else, it's built like a tank, precise, and crystal clear. IOR is the manufacturer, and Valdada is the importer.

what kind of mount, base, ring[s] would you use for it? I'm going to try one.

I dont have any IOR scopes, but I have a pair of Binoculars. They are military style 10x50 which I bought almost 20 years ago. They are clear, bright, with excellent glass, and built like a tank.

I did have a IOR 6x & it was and is a good optic. Mine came with factory rings & mount but they were not that good so I replaced them with a AD quick throw. They have simple adjustment & good glass. The only thing I had trouble with was the size of the rings 35mm is hard to find or was at that time. It was a bit big & added some considerable weight to my AR. I think using it on a 308 would be it's best utility. They have BDC for 223 & 308. If I had a do over I would find one with 30mm tube

They make really good optics you just need to get a good mount. I use American Defense which is a good strong platform. I sell them also but I used them before I started selling. There good quality mounts. But there are many other mounts that are as good like Arms & such

I looked at that link to that optic & I've not seen those yet. I don't sell them but I may start. I don't think you will need any high end mounts with that scope unless you like the quick throw lever option

I have a Burris similar to that. I don't know a lot about it for I've not used one personally. IOR is a quality brand that I would not hesitate to buy. The price is very good for such a brand. That's a no brainer. Good luck

I have not used that particular model from IOR, but I can tell you that the high-end rifle scopes made by IOR are generally NOT made in Hong Kong as stated on the red-dot you linked to.

What I would call "Genuine" IOR products contain very good glass from Schott Glasswerk of Germany / Zeiss.

But this red-dot offering is not in their normal league of gear. So if you were looking for a quality magnified rifle scope you'd do well, but this red-dot looks like some kind of re-badged stuff from China.

You can get a Genuine "Aimpoint PRO" for just a little more. This Aimpoint model is the same as the Comp M3 with a QRP2 MOUNT included.

Shop around for the Aimoint PRO, I've seen them for as little as $329.

I've had a couple and definitely appreciated the glass clarity and toughness of the scopes and their finishes but aye-gawd, they were heavy beasts.
