DARN IT! How do I post those nest looking pictures?

January 31, 2003, 03:26 AM
Okay I give up. I still can't figure out how to post a picture of my guns from jpg files I have on my computer.

Please explain to me how it is done as if you were talking to the village idiot.

I am gonna smash this darn computer!:banghead: :banghead:

I couldn't get the "attach file" button to work for me. I used the one at TFL a couple of times, and it worked ok. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong, or it is disabled.

The only other way that I know is to post pictures from the web.

Find the picture you want on the web, right click, select properties, copy the picture's url, click the IMG button and paste the url.

For example: http://www.ae.gatech.edu/people/tsiotras/Pictures/F18.gif

When bracketed by: [IMG]the url goes here[/IMG .(you have to add the end bracket for it to work, I've left it off here so the text will show)

You can type it manually, or use the IMG button

SO the picture must come form a web site. Okay!

You can now post a photo on THR from you hard drive. You have to do this though.

1. Post attachment from HD.
2. Edit post.
3. Copy and paste your attachement properties in the regular properties[img] tag, I left out the back slash {/} in the last [img] tag to avoid the dreaded red X.

Your welcome, but all the credit should go to Derek Zeanah. I learned how from him a couple weeks ago.

Heh. It works.

By the way, that's an actual ashtray from the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago.

Normally I dont have any problem moving things around on my computer. I have tried several different methods to post an image from my hard drive to no avail.

I have tried typing the file path, using the attach file option below and a couple other methods. My files are larger than the allowable 153600 bytes, so that explains why the attach file option doesn't work.

Exactly how do I upload from my HD?

If it's over the max allowable size for an attachment, you'll have to get it onto the web somewhere else, then link to it with the IMG tag.

I can't take any longer. Lots of answers here, but no one has answered the question PATH originally asked!

Here ya go. One made by a Robin in a Redbud tree outside our front door: http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=93489

:p :D

Mal, If I had a pic of a nest as handy as you do, I would have already posted it. I cant believe it took so long for someone to mention it!:D

:D I took 'em just minutes before posting. The bright spots are from a flashlight because the camera wouldn't autofocus in the dark.
