As we all know, Glock is not quite perfection. But, it is close.

I have finished performing the following three EASY modifications to my recently purchased Gen 4 Glocks (17, 19, and 26).

1. Lone Wolf Extended Slide Lock. Sometimes called the "Takedown Lever." This modification makes it so much easier to remove the slide. I could do manage okay with the original Glock part, but I did have the occasional fumble.

2. Glock Extended Slide Release. At first, I was a bit concerned that this would get in the way of concealed carry since I thought it might introduce a snag point on a gun that is otherwise fairly snag-free (19 & 26). After going through some drills, this concern was completely unfounded. It really does not protrude that much at all, and helps a ton when it comes to releasing the slide forward from its locked-back position.

3. Glock 26 - Pearce Grip Extension (+0). This lets the pinky sit comfortably on your Glock 26. Love it. Does not take away much from concealability for me. I prefer the +0 as it is more concealable.

Other mods coming include new sights and a trigger connector bar.

GLOCK!! Gotta love it. I can upgrade my guns without going to a gunsmith. So much fun!

3. I don't use one, I switched to appendix carry and prefer the standard baseplate. But in regards to size, the +2 baseplate is just a teeny, teeny bit larger than the +0.

I've owned all the gen4 9mm glocks. I ended up selling the 17 and 34, keeping just the 26 and 19. None of them gave me any trouble. Shoot the crap out of it and enjoy. :)

Just installed the trigger connectors to each of my Glocks.

Great improvement. It's slight, but very noticeable. Smooth with no "grit."

The extended Takedown Lever is a lot easier to use, and works on all generations of Glocks. I like the +1 extended baseplate on my Glock 26 magazines, simply because it lets me start with 11 rounds when I use it for IDPA matches. The standard slide release works fine, so I haven't seen the need to replace it.

I recently did my first trigger mods to a Glock too. In the reading I did before buying the parts, there were some reports of little to no change with only swapping the connector. Those reviews said that changing springs were what would allow the lower weight connector to really shine. I didn't try mine with just the connector, but swapping out trigger spring and firing pin safety spring definitely gave me a smooth trigger with a good reset.

Have you shot it yet? Any issues with the new takedown lever bothering your support hand while shooting?

I'm glad your results have been good so far. One thing is for sure, doing your own minor smithing is a lot of fun and a source of pride.

There are some holsters that do not get along with the oversized take down lever. Thats the only negative thing I can think of . I have one on my G17, and its great.

As far as the connectors go, I prefer Ghost Inc.
