Dear THR:
Kindly let know your views and experiences on Enhanced Elite. I bought this gun and I am very happy with it except for one minor issue. I get finger bite on the trigger. Not sure if I am doing somthing wrong, but I have tens of other handguns and they dont any such issues- other sigs included.
Thank you

I have a 229 enhanced elite and love it. Only problem I have is sitting down with it...the beaver tail gets a little bothersome if I wear it during a long car ride. I don't have any issues with finger bite.

At the top, at the bottom, or from the back?

From the back when pulled.

You're using too much finger on the trigger.

The trigger should contact the finger between the tip and cuticle...somewhere behind the nail bed

Yes. Its fine when i use that much finger. Need to adjust a little bit for this pistol.

I would suggest that, that is the amount of finger you'd always want to use on the trigger for the best results when shooting a handgun at speed

I will have to practice quite a bit to make it muscle memory.,

I guess with it I may end up improving my accuracy some what.

Dear THR Guys,

I just picked up a used but very nice SIG 226 Elite stainless in 40 S&W, with SRT. It also came with full upper conversions to 22LR and .357 SIG. I also have a SIG 229 in 40. I do get a tigger bite, but it's not bad, it gets me at the first joint of my trigger finger where the trigger goes into the frame. I especailly notice it on the 229 but not much on the 226. I think its operator error, I'm not engaging the trigger properly, putting my finger too far into the trigger guard. I have not shot the 229 very much and the 226 not at all. Thoughts? I mean I JUST picked it up. I hope to go to the range today.

The problem I'm having it that the slide does not lock back with two of the three 40/SIG357 magazines. I notice extremely minor differences in the followers on the magazines but all of the 226 mags lock back in the 229. Suggestions? New followers? New magazines? They are Mec-Gar (very small print) and are marked SIG SAUER.

Also, what possible damage have I done to the SRT system since I field striped the pistol (page 25) with out following the special SRT takedown instructions hidden on page 66 of the manual? I didn't read the entire manual before I started taking the gun apart to see how easy it was to switch calibers.
