I have been wanting to get a 16 inch carbine with CAR or M4 stock, but I really would prefer a old type light weight 1:12 twist like the SP series colts and everybody before the A2 was built.

Anyone know of someone selling complete uppers with that barrel or complete kits with it?

ALternatively does anyone currently provide kits with compete uppers for a full sized rubber baby bumper A1 clone with triangle guards and a 1:12 barrel? (old men often suffer from nostalgia)

Sarco has what they call an "original Colt made G.I. M16A1 Complete parts set" but I'm sure you'd have to call and inquire about the barrel.

Yeah, when I built my 2 (identical) AR's in 2009, I got the original pencil-weight 5.56 chambered 1-in-12 barrels from Sarco
