Did some research and CCI Mini-Mags get the most nods in the Model 60. Any HYPER-velocity like Stingers are not a good idea from what I've read. Any other ideas on what ammo to use would be appreciated.

One of the things I like most about mine is that it's favorite ammo is the Federal 550 bulk pack.

you're just gonna have to try a few and see what it likes. it's usually a balancing act of price and accuracy.

give CCI Standard Velocity and Federal Automatch a try.

Mine have run about anything I put in them ok except Remington Golden Bullet bulk stuff. I have been using the Winchester 555 bulk for the most part.

My first firearm, manufactured and purchased in 69. No issues to date. :)

I don't have much use for a .22 that won't shoot CCI Blazer well enough. Best bulk rimfire ammo, hands down.

CCI SV or Green Tag for making small groups.

Plus, CCI is made in the US (Lewiston, ID, to be exact)

MiniMag solids are kind of the universal "go to" .22LR. They work great in all my .22s and most people report the same.

Shot some Remington Target yesterday. Priced close enough to MiniMag to not matter and are solid nose. Sometimes the MiniMag solids can be hard to find. My 10/22 likes the Rem Target pretty well. The coating on the bullets turns your fingers black. Yuck.

Don't rule out bulk. Your rifle just might like them. I also shoot Remington Goldens. No, not as accurate or reliable as the more expensive stuff but adequate for most. Surprisingly I also shot 100 rds of Goldens yesterday & not one single malf or dud in my 10/22. You can definitely hear and feel a difference from round to round though. Consistency is not the Goldens' strong suit...:D

Usually out of 10 magazines I'll get a few dud rounds with the Goldens.

My marlin (795) likes winchester 555 bulk. It does not like cci blazer. I think every 22 likes cci stingers or mini mags.

Federal hp 36 grain, I've been buying them in the 525 packs. They shoot accurate and are reliable in my Marlins. Also shoot well in my rugers and buckmark. It's my go to 22 ammo, works in everything. I've bought two boxes a paycheck over the past year. I got tons of it. I bet your marlin and ur wallet will be happy, only one that doesn't like them is Mr. Squirrel.... I've made lots of squirrel dinners with the help of them fed bulk packs.

The only thing my model 60 won't shoot is the sub sonic loads. For hunting I prefer solid mini mags. For just general plinking i prefer the federal bulk boxes.

Ditto. My experience with CCI Blazer is that it provides reliable performance, impressive considering the price.

Mine (early 90s model) seems to prefer 40gr Mini-Mag, but also does well with Automatch.

CCI SV and Winchester Dynapoint GT are next.

Didn't seem to care much for 36gr Mini-Mags, and Fed Bulk looked like 00 buckshot had hit the target.

There is only one way to find what ammo your rifle lies best. You have to shoot a lot of different ammo. That's not a bad thing. What are you going to use this rifle for? If you just want to put a rabbit in the pot, most bulk ammo will do fine.

I have a Glenfield 75, it likes everything up to say 1300fps. Regular and moderately high velocity rounds are great, even golden bullets. The hyper velocity 36 grain rounds really upen up group-wise, but still function fine.

I have had a couple of Marlin 60's that "LOVED" Stingers. Pretty much no other 22 lr, handgun or rifle I have owned, shot them well.
