My wife's grandfather bought a Wards Western Field EJN-753 .30-06 in '59 or '60 for about 329 it was made in Belgium. I am trying to find who made it the most I could find was that it might have been made by Jefferson Firearms. I have not been able to find anything about Jefferson Firearms. Any info on the gun and maker would be great. My in-laws just dropped it off but my camera is dead so I will add pics later.

Thanks for all the help

a quick google search shows it was made by Mossberg for Montgomery Ward.
Heres one that sold for $250.

I cant really see due to the small size but your FN.bmp attachment would lead me to believe it was FN that made your gun. It looks just like an FN Mauser from what I can see of the action. When you see made in Belgium 9 times out of 10 it is Fabrique Nationale, still pumping out FN/Browning/Winchester guns to this day.

I googled around on this & everything I found indicated that the manufacturer was Jefferson Arms. They used FN actions & an American made microgroove barrel (maybe Marlin?). Apparently these rifles were very similar to other rifles made for Colt by Jefferson. Here is an old THR thread on this topic http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-545046.html
