A used Remington 1100 should run about $250-300 in good condition. From there, a mag extension is only a few steps away. Then, go for a job by Vang Comp (about $150) and some ghost rings.

Price altogether, about $550-600 for a sweet shotgun.

Agreed, around here there are any number of used 1100's for plus-or-minus $300, some in very good condition indeed. Once you remove the magazine plug, these will hold 4+1. You can also get Winchester SX1's, for a bit more money ($300-$350), which are superb.

I bought a used 1100 in a pawn shop for $250 and it's in excellent condition. It's a great shotgun, it has never jammed up on me in the 4 years I've had it. No, it's not for sale.:D

I bought a new Verona SX405 synthetic for $329. gas operated, 5+1, comes with three chokes. it shoots great. they can be found on Gunbroker.com and GunsAmerica.com or probably at your local shop.

is this for hunting, clays, or defense?

I'd jump on a used 1100 for 300 bucks, but I have to say I'd rather have the Saiga 12. I didn't know they were down to $200 bucks though. CDNN, eh?

I think that the 200 dollar price at cdnn is for the 20 ga. If not, I need to call and make a order, becasue Id really like a 12 ga saiga.

Saiga 12ga. It's a 12 gauge Kalashnikov (kind of hard to beat that reliability). Five shot box magazine, and while swapping AK mags isn't fast compared to an AR15, it's lightning quick compared to reloading a tube mag.

Is the Saiga legal in CA?

The saiga is not CA legal. Additionally, CDNN has stated to me that they will not ship any"semiauto defensive arms" to CA.
